British Columbia Animal Rights Hub is dedicated to raising awareness about animal rights and promote compassionate treatment through education, community service, and responsible actions, empowering students to protect animals and their habitats.

• Advocating for Ethical Treatment: “To advocate for the ethical treatment and protection of all animals through education, activism, and community outreach, fostering a world where animals are treated with respect and compassion.”
• Promoting Animal Welfare: “To promote the welfare and rights of animals by raising awareness about animal cruelty, supporting humane practices, and empowering individuals to make compassionate choices for animals.”
• Fostering Coexistence: “To create a society where humans and animals coexist harmoniously by protecting wildlife, promoting sustainable practices, and ensuring the well-being of all animals through responsible stewardship.”

Founder

Hi, my name is Namwoo Kim. I am a grade 12 student who is currently attending ST. Thomas Aquinas Regional Secondary School in Vancouver, Canada. I am passionate about animal rights and health as I have been working as an intern at a local vet clinic for the last few years. During my time at the clinic, I became increasingly aware of a critical issue facing our society: the challenges surrounding wildlife, particularly in British Columbia. Over the past few years, there has been a significant increase in the number of bear sightings in residential areas, highlighting the alarming reduction in their natural habitats. This phenomenon underscores the urgent need to address the loss of their territories and the burden it places on both wildlife and communities. To this end, the organization was founded with the mission of raising awareness, educating the public, and taking action to tackle challenges faced in our community. In our events, we prioritize the protection of wildlife animals such as bears or coyotes in British Columbia. Through this organization, I aim to foster a community that promotes the ethical treatment of wild-life animals, and spearhead initiatives that can contribute to the welfare and preservation of wildlife.

Hi, my name is Minseok Kim. I have always been deeply passionate about animal welfare, a passion that led me to establish this organization alongside my brother. Our mission is to advocate for the protection and rights of animals, both domestic and wild, in our region. Over the years, I’ve become increasingly aware of the various challenges animals face, from habitat loss to unethical treatment. In particular, British Columbia’s rich wildlife is under constant threat due to human encroachment and environmental degradation. The growing conflict between urban development and the natural habitats of animals like bears, cougars, and coyotes is an urgent issue that demands immediate attention. At BC Animal Rights Hub, we work tirelessly to raise awareness, educate the public, and drive meaningful change. We believe that protecting animals is not just about responding to crises, but also about creating sustainable, long-term solutions that benefit both wildlife and communities. Through our various outreach programs, campaigns, and events, we strive to build a society that respects and protects all animals, fostering a future where humans and wildlife coexist in harmony. As one of the founders, I am committed to ensuring that the BC Animal Rights Hub continues to be a strong voice for the voiceless, advocating for policies and practices that prioritize animal welfare and environmental stewardship. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of animals and safeguard their place in our world.
